Most agency websites are fine on the surface. Listings display properly, photos look good, enquiry forms function. What is missing is anyone actually landing on them. Ask an agent where leads come from and real estate backlinks you will hear portals, word of mouth, and the board outside. The website sits there costing money.
The standard advice is to publish more. Neighbourhood guides, market reports, first time buyer advice, the identical set every other agency publishes. It is not that this content is worthless. The problem is Google has seen it ten thousand times and has no reason to rank your copy.
Ranking property sites are not usually better written. It is what points at them.
Here is where most people get it wrong. A link from a small real estate blog often beats one from a far more authoritative general website. Search engines weigh what a linking site is about, not just how strong it is. A property site linking to another property site is a signal that makes sense. A general directory linking to everything is not.
This is why so many agents get poor results from cheap link packages. The placements are genuine enough, they are simply about nothing related. If you want links built on property sites specifically, that is exactly what real estate backlinks was set up to do.
Before chasing links, get the basics out of the way. Missing citations and a neglected Business Profile will limit whatever links you build. Sort those first, then build links into a site that is ready to use them.
None of this shows results in two weeks. Links need to be crawled, then assessed, then weighted, and Google takes its time over all three. Expect eight to twelve weeks before a site with few existing links shifts noticeably. Sites with an established profile move faster. What separates the winners is persistence through the flat period at the start.
